Civic Community Meetings
In January 2019, we held our first community meeting at the Twin Falls Public Library to share with the community our desire to build a children’s museum within the Magic Valley. We presented the steps we had already taken, such as joining the Association of Children’s Museums, receiving our non-profit 501(c)3 status in November 2018, drafting our mission and vision statements, and creating our logo. We also held community meetings in Burley, Jerome & Hailey.
To share our message to more individuals in the Magic Valley, we reached out to area civic organizations and presented at their meetings. Over three months, we presented to the following organizations:
Jerome Rotary
Twin Falls Rotary After Hours
Twin Falls Optimist Club
Twin Falls Kiwanis Club
Twin Falls Lions Club
Rotary of Blue Lakes
Twin Falls Rotary
Burley Rotary
Twin Falls Service Providers
Mini-Cassia Service Providers
Jerome Service Providers
We were grateful to share our mission and vision for CMMV with these groups. We received great feedback and excitement for the project.
Educational Outreach
The Children’s Museum On the Go! Mobile Program offers engaging science, technology, engineering, art and math activities that make learning fun, accessible and appealing. These activities are designed for children and their adults to explore & play together. We offer various exhibit programs that are geared for children Pre-K through 8th grade. Since launching the mobile exhibit program Summer 2019, over 34,000 children and their adults have played at 291 events in 23 communities with 17 full-sized exhibits because of $215,470 in program grants. We have traveled from Ketchum to Hollister and Gooding to Declo and everywhere in between. Children, parents and teachers alike have loved everything we have to offer!
